Warning for sending marketing emails to your audience

📧 Warning for anyone who sends marketing emails:

Google and Yahoo plan to start on February 1, enforcing new requirements for all email senders.

The authentication requirements are aimed at improving deliverability and preventing spam and phishing. Bloody good job!

Any emails sent from unauthenticated email addresses could be blocked from reaching the recipient’s inbox.

These changes will affect all bulk email senders.

If you use a respected email service provider such as Mailchimp, for example, you’re probably in good shape. The email service providers have been on top of the changes, and many have safeguards in place for those domains that have yet to be authenticated.
